Lower Level Trekking Itineraries

On this page are links to those popular treks at a lower level in the High Atlas that we have arranged for clients since the 1990s.  

Our trekking organiser and Head Guide have many, many years of experience of arranging treks in Morocco. The itineraries we offer are fully thought through for their tailor-made purpose, i.e. times are based on a small party and allow for amendments and short cuts if necessary for any reason.

We have detailed maps, which are quite difficult to obtain outside Morocco, and experience of the areas we offer trekking in so feel free to contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

1. Imlil Valley Hike (low level)

Grade 1 - 2 days    (ref. ITCTTM01m)

An introduction to the High Atlas through two circular walks; includes a night in our Head Guide's Gite in Imlil.

  

2. Imlil to Setti Fadma  - Grade 1/2 - 3 days    

(ref. ITCTTM02m / ref. ITCTTM02a)

This is one of our most popular short and (relatively) low level hikes; it can be done in either direction; we recommend combining it with a night at the Doaur Samra.

  

3. High Atlas Hike below 2500m

Grade 1 - 4 days     (ref. ITCTTM13m)

This hike takes you across the valleys and through the Berber Villages to the west of the main Imlil Valley, mostly off-the-beaten-track but maintaining a modest altitude.

4. Oukaimeden Plateau & Western Ourika Valley

Grade 2 - 5 days    (ref. ITCTTM07m)

A slightly tougher hike to get up to Oukaimeden but an excellent route through the Berber countryside and wild scenery of the High Atlas before returning to Imlil.

  

5. Toubkal Massif, Oukaimeden & Western Ourika Valley

Grade 2 - 6 days    (ref. ITCTTM21m)

This hike combines a bit of all the others; it starts with two self-contained (but challenging) day hikes out of Imlil follwed by the trek up to Oukaimeden and on to Seti Fadma in the beautiful Ourika Valley.

  

6. Telouet & Tichka Highlights

 Grade 2 - 7 days    (ref. ITCTTEL02m)

We are very excited about this new trek; we have included a visit to the stunning Kasbah of Telouet just prior to setting out on a wonderful off-the-beaten-track itinerary between the Tichka Pass and the beautiful Ourika Valley. The hike then continues on to Imlil via Oukaimeden.
