Trekking in Greece
Zagori is from Slavic origin from the words 'za', which means behind, and 'gori', which means mountain. So it literally means 'the land behind the mountain', referring to Mount Mitsikeli of Ioannina, the natural border of Zagori to the south.

We are proud to offer our customers a programme of exciting hikes in the Zagori region in the north west of Greece. Situated north of Ioannina this exceptionally beautiful and unspoilt region comprises wild rivers, dense forest and the impressive Pindos mountain range which stretches a distance of 230km in total. This makes the area ideal for mountain and nature activities. North Pindos is a protected area which spreads about 2,500 square kilometres, and reaches an altitude of 2637m. It is an area of many altitude variations, the lowest being 400m. The surroundings are filled with deep gorges, large forests and are rich in wildlife.
