Ponta Delgada is a traditional fishing village in two parts – the upper part lies on the main road; the bottom half with its narrow lanes and shops lies near the sea. In the heart of Ponta Delgada lies the church of Igreja do Bom Jesus, with its famous wooden crucifix, the focus of a religious festival in September. This cross was washed ashore in the 15th century. The church, built to house it, was burned down in 1908 and the present church dates from 1919. On the sea front you will find the Piscina – the  local lido – a sea pool with changing rooms and a café.		A very popular hotel which benefits from a stunning cliff-top location and many excellent facilities.

             

Accommodation: All 106 rooms and 5 suites have a/c, satellite TV, telephone, fridge, safety deposit box, bathroom and balcony with sea or mountain view. The 4 junior suites are perfect for families as they have twin beds, a living room with a sofa bed, two single sofas, TV, four chairs and a hydro massage tub in the bathroom. For an extra special occasion the Presidential Suite has a king sized bed and twin beds, a private balcony and garden facing the sea, kitchen, dinig room, living room, hydro massage tub, gym, office and a dressing room.

Facilities: The hotels facilities are located on many levels and include the main restaurant, a choice of bars and 24hr reception; lifts are available.
