Enchanting Lapland - Day Trip to visit Santa - 2010

A magical one day visit to a remote location, set in the beautiful north of Finnish Lapland.

Upon arrival you will be equipped with thermal suits and boots before departing by snowmobile and sleigh direct from the airport in search of Santa Claus. There is the opportunity to appreciate the silence broken only by the sound of the snowmobiles as you proceed to the location for the day -a traditional large cabin on a frozen lake shore. Here it will be possible to partake in a range of activities - reindeer and husky sleigh rides, horse sleigh rides & snowmobile rides for adults and children. A visit to the snow castle is an absolute must. Here in an ante-chamber hot drinks are served from a table constructed of ice.

At this location special toboggans known as Stigas are used, these provide a better steering ability and make for a more interesting ride on the specially built toboggan course. A warming lunch is available in the cabin restaurant throughout the day.

A day to Lapland, however, is not complete without a private family visit to the man himself and an opportunity for your child to discuss their Christmas letter with him. Each child (2-11) will receive a gift.

Sadly, Santa must continue with his Christmas preparations so you depart by coach back to Enontekio Airport. There is a small souvenir shop at the airport, if you wish to purchase momentos of the day, and you will also receive souvenir licences and an Arctic Circle Crossing certificate.
