Cyclades |
||
The Cyclades is a diverse group of 39 islands, probably the best known island group in Greece. The islands are so named because they form a kyklos (circle) around the island of Delos, one of the world’s most important ancient sites.
The Cyclades are known for white cubed houses, olive groves, extensive sandy beaches, but each island is very different and each has a distinct character - that is why island hopping is such a fantastic idea, you really feel as though you are having many holidays all rolled into one!
Some islands are known for their hedonistic lifestlye, others portray a more traditional, laid back facade; small islands with barely a handful of kilometres from coastline to coastline, larger islands with many villages and towns.
