Hotel Ostrea

Boasting the longest defensive wall in Europe, the town has existed since 1333, when its people built its stone houses, surrounded by the beautiful sea. Mali Ston is a town with a tradition of preserving natural beauties; as a Nature Park it is able to offer a sense of true beauty and innocence bathed in the Mediterranean sun. Perhaps the richest offer of the Bay is the Mali Ston Oyster, and top quality white flesh fish.
The Ostrea Hotel was built by renovating the old house of the Kralj family, who manage and run the hotel today. The Ostrea opened its doors to guests in 1998 and is located near to the “Kapetanova Kuca”, an excellent restaurant owned by the same family providing a marvellous natural atmosphere. The name, by the way, is acquired from a beautiful shell – oyster, in Latin: OSTREA EDULIS.
The “Ostrea” Hotel makes an ideal place for guests craving peace and relaxation amongst wonderful scenery, just the quiet and murmur of the sea outside and only a short walk to the nearest (small) beach.

The hotel has 13 rooms and an apartment over two buildings. Each room is air-conditioned, has a PC outlet, a direct phone line, satellite TV and a mini-bar. Facilities in the hotel include an aperitif bar, business lounge, the “Mlinica” restaurant and car park.

Restaurant "Mlinica"
The “Mlinica” restaurant is located on the ground floor inside the “Ostrea” Hotel. It was given this name after olive mill (mlinica) that produces luxuriant and healthy olive oil, which is served in the hotel.
Restaurant "Kapetanova kuća"
The “Kapetanova kuca” restaurant is situated in a very attractive location on the Mali Ston waterfront. The name was derived due to the fact that it was the dwelling place of the Mali Ston Guard Captain. It was opened back in 1986 and became a very popular family tavern. It is also owned by Kralj family, one of the oldest families in Mali Ston, and offers specialties of the Mali Ston Bay exclusively and includes a large winery of Peljesac wines.
