Croatia's 1100 miles of coastline is stunning in itself but the myriad of islands and islets along its length (over 1000) add to its beauty as well as offering extra places to stay or visit as part of your holiday to Croatia. The outstanding scenery of the Dalmatian Coast is not the only jewel in the crown, there is a mountainous interior to explore including the Plitvice National Park (one of our favourite places, full of waterfalls and lakes), the Venetian towns, the cosmopolitan and vibrant capital, Zagreb, and numerous excursions by boat or across the border into Bosnia (e.g. Mostar) and Montenegro (e.g. Bay of Kotor).

Hvar Town
Plitvice National Park

This itinerary is one of our suggested fly-drive holidays for one week in southern Croatia; it is a very comprehensive schedule which includes Dubrovnik, the Adriatic islands, the Dalmatian coast and the stunning Plitvice National Park but we are also able to tailor-make a holiday programme to suit your requirements for UK departure airport, budget, duration, activities, etc.

The hotels in this programme are generally small, independent or family-run, properties which add significantly to your travel experience in this fascinating country. The new highway linking Zagreb and Dubrovnik will cut down journey times when you wish to get from A to B quickly but this also means that the other roads will be quieter and a pleasant alternative for sightseeing and travelling at a gentler pace.

All our holidays have a recommended route and we include the most up-to-date ferry schedules and tariffs for each island you wish to visit; we will send you our own guidebook with your confirmation and are able, through our local agency, to book activities and specialist sightseeing, particularly in Dubrovnik - such as cycling, sea kayaking, wine-tasting, etc.
