Aghia Galini

<<< Back to Crete index

Aghia Galini started life as a small fishing village and it remains one of the prettiest places on the south coast of Crete thanks to its charming harbour and whitewashed houses. Nowadays it is a popular holiday destination, however it has retained much of its original charm. Due to the location of the village, atop a hill overlooking the port, the views towards the Libyan Sea are wonderful. There is a good choice of restaurants in the village and tavernas along the long strip of beach.

There is a good bus service to Rethymnon, Chania and Heraklion and boat trips to quiet coves and islands.
