Spending Christmas in Lapland, deep inside the Arctic Circle, will provide all the members of your family with special memories they will treasure for ever. Christmas in Lapland will be filled with activities to keep your children enthralled throughout this very special time of year, not least setting out in search of the grand old man himself. Here is a typical itinerary.
After you land in Enontekio in Finland you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around 15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and you stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking in at your chosen accommodation, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break. This evening you can join one of the optional activities, should you wish.
After breakfast, you will head out on your first safari, a thrilling 40-minute Husky Experience, followed by a warming lunch. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available. Alternatively you might like to join the indoor craft activities or try one of the optional excursions. Return to your hotel for dinner.
You'll experience your second safari after breakfast -the Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warm lunch. A supervised kids' snowmobile ride will be available.
Then the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift. After a special Christmas dinner relax or join one of the optional evening excursions.
After breakfast you can join one of the optional excursions. Alternatively you may want to spend time playing in the snow. After lunch the afternoon is free to relax, enjoy more fun in the snow or perhaps join an excursion. This evening enjoy carol singing at the local church. After dinner relax or partake in an optional night excursion.
