Day 1 |
Depart from Athens following the national highway to the north until you arrive at Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora gigantic rocks. You will enjoy an early afternoon visit to this wonderful site. Amongst striking scenery and perched on top of huge rocks, stand ageless monasteries where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Later on in a traditional Greek restaurant you will take part in a Greek cooking lesson and enjoy it as your dinner with the help of a good local house wine, which is included in the meal! Overnight in Kalambaka. | |
Day 2 |
Depart from Kalambaka and drive to Vergina to visit the unique museum, created in the great tumulus covering the royal tombs of Macedonia. See the astonishing findings from the tomb of King Phillip II, Alexander’s father, one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. Continue via Trikala and the National highway and arrive at your hotel at the seaside resort of Leptokarya. Enjoy the wonderful beach and the hotel facilities. Dinner and overnight in Leptokarya. |

Day 3 |
After breakfast you have several hours at leisure until just before noon when you start to make your way south towards Athens. A few hours before your arrival in Athens you will make a visit to one of the most famous Greek wineries, the “Hatzimichalis” winery. Visit the vineyards, learn everything about wine production and as a highlight visit the underground cellars with 2.500 French oak barriques. A wine tasting of two different wines will follow to complete a memorable visit. You will then continue your journey to Athens, arriving back in the evening. |

Accommodation on the tour is in 3* or 4* hotels on half board basis.
